The free YouTube Agent Skill: 11 Claudes, and my 18-hook test

A free, open-source pack of 11 Claude skills for YouTube creators: scripts, titles and thumbnails, edits, comments, planning, viral research and more. I ran all 18 of my own Reel hooks through its hook scorer. Here's how to install it, what each command does, and what my test showed.

Came from the Reel? You commented YOUTUBE. Here is everything, with one-tap copy.
Before you start: The skill is by Jakeschincariol on GitHub (MIT licence, free, no sign-up, no API key). It writes and analyses. It never uploads or posts anything for you. Tested on October 6, 2026.

All 3, step by step

#1

Install it

Works best in Claude Code, where its 6 Python tools run. In the Claude app you can paste any single SKILL.md into a chat and it runs as a mode, without the tools.

You need
  • Claude Code (recommended), or the Claude app
  1. Add the plugin with the two commands below, each as its own prompt.
  2. Or clone the repo and copy the skills folders into ~/.claude/skills/.
  3. Spend 10 minutes on templates/voice.md: every skill reads it.
Command
/plugin marketplace add Jakeschincariol/youtube-agent-skill /plugin install youtube-agent
Prompt

https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/youtube-agent-skill Install this skill, then confirm /yt-script works.

#2

The 11 commands

/yt-script (script from 21 hook formulas, hook scored) · /yt-package (title + thumbnail as one pair) · /yt-edit (edit list: dead air, retakes) · /yt-comment (triage + replies) · /yt-plan (a week that fits your hours) · /yt-viral (what beats its own channel's median) · /yt-retention (where people left) · /yt-shorts (Shorts inside a long video) · /yt-seo · /yt-chapters · /yt-audit (ends in ONE fix).

  1. Start with /yt-script on your next idea.
  2. Run /yt-audit once to get the one fix that matters most.
Prompt

/yt-script a video about [your idea]

My test: 18 hooks, 0 passed

I ran the opening lines of my last 18 Instagram Reels through the skill's hookscore.py. Every one scored WEAK (under 55). The best was "3 Claude Code hacks nobody shows you. #3 feels illegal" at 52/100, and 82% of viewers skipped it. "12 Claudes just put my coffee shop idea on trial" scored 41, and only 52% skipped it, so 48% stayed. The README is honest about this: the score separates bad hooks from real ones well, and a creator's hits from their own misses barely at all.

You need
  • Claude Code or any Python 3
  1. Put one hook per line in hooks.txt.
  2. Run the scorer and read the weakest property it names.
  3. Fix that one property and score again.
Command
python3 skills/yt-script/hookscore.py hooks.txt

Tip: Skip rates are from Instagram Insights for my own Reels, read through the Zernio API.

Tip: Use the hook score to decide what to look at again, not to predict views. My best-scoring hook was my most skipped.
