4 GitHub repos as businesses: what 5 AI investors funded

I turned 4 popular open-source repos into business ideas and ran each one through the free Pitch Panel skill. The two that sounded like the most money got zero offers. The smallest repo got four. Here are all 4 links, why each one won or lost, and the panel so you can test your own.

Came from the Reel? You commented REPOS. Here is everything, with one-tap copy.
Before you start: Star counts and licenses are from GitHub on October 6, 2026. The investors are archetypes from the Pitch Panel skill, not real people, and the offers are role-play, not real money. Nothing here is financial or legal advice.

All 5, step by step

#1

Vibe-Trading (34.9K ★, MIT): 0/5 offers

An AI trading agent: market data, backtests and strategy research in one place. The pitch: sell its signals for $29 a month. The panel's problem: one losing month and subscribers cancel, there's no track record, and selling paid trading signals is regulated in many countries.

You need
  • Python
  1. Use it to research and backtest your own ideas, not as a product to sell.
  2. If you ever want to charge for signals, check your local rules first.
Command
pip install vibe-trading-ai

Tip: Great to learn with. Hard to sell.

#2

FinceptTerminal (32.2K ★, AGPL-3.0): 0/5 offers

A free, Bloomberg-style finance terminal: market analytics, research and economic data. The pitch: rebrand it and sell it for $20 a month. The panel's problem: it's AGPL-3.0. Run a modified version as a service and you must share your source code. The name is trademarked, and the makers already sell an Enterprise edition for $10–40 per user a month.

You need
  • Windows, macOS or Linux
  1. Download the installer from the releases page.
  2. Use it for your own research. Read the LICENSE before building anything on top of it.

Tip: Free for personal use and learning. Check the license before you charge anyone.

#3

HyperFrames (57.7K ★, Apache-2.0): 3/5 offers

Write HTML, render video, built so AI agents can make videos for you. The pitch: weekly short videos for local restaurants at $400 a month. The Operator, Brand Builder and Royalty Shark said yes (a monthly bill, a product people share, rendering runs locally). The Tech Skeptic and Mentor said no: agencies already do this, and no video has been delivered yet.

You need
  • Node.js
  • Claude Code or another AI coding agent (optional)
  1. Add it to Claude Code with the two plugin commands.
  2. Or start a project by hand, preview it, then render to MP4.
Command
claude plugin marketplace add heygen-com/hyperframes claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes
Prompt

npx hyperframes init my-video

Tip: Make 3 free sample videos for one restaurant first. That's your proof for the Mentor.

#4

Claude Ads (9.7K ★, MIT): 4/5 offers

A Claude Code skill for paid ads across 12 platforms (Google, Meta, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Amazon and more). It audits accounts with evidence, plans budgets and drafts changes, and it's read-only by default. The pitch: a $300 ad-account audit for small businesses that already spend on ads. Only the Tech Skeptic said no (anyone can install the same free skill). The other 4 said yes: the buyer is clear, wasted ad spend is the reason to buy now, and it costs you about an hour.

You need
  • Claude Code
  • Exports or read access to the ad account you're auditing
  1. Send the first command as its own prompt in Claude Code.
  2. Send the second command as a separate prompt.
  3. Run /ads setup, then /ads audit.
Command
/plugin marketplace add agricidaniel/claude-ads /plugin install claude-ads@ai-marketing-hub-claude-ads
Prompt

/ads audit all

Tip: Do your first 3 audits free and screenshot the wasted spend you find. That's what wins the Mentor.

#5

Run the panel on your own repo idea

The same 5 investors from the video, as a free Claude skill. Pitch any repo-based business in 4 lines and get offers, outs and a fix list.

You need
  • The Claude app (any plan, code execution on) or Claude Code
  1. Download pitch-panel.zip below.
  2. Claude app: Customize → Skills → + → Upload a skill. Claude Code: unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/.
  3. Pitch your idea in 4 lines.
Command
unzip pitch-panel.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/
Prompt

Use pitch-panel. What it is: a [service] built on [repo]. Who it's for and price: [..]. First 100 customers: [..]. I'm asking for: [..].

Tip: Don't sell the repo. Sell a problem someone already pays to fix, and use the repo to do the work.
