Photon Studio is a free Photoshop-style editor that opens PSDs and runs its AI tools offline. VoiceStudio is an open-source, fully local ElevenLabs alternative: voice cloning, dubbing, dictation and audiobooks. No subscription, no upload.

Before you start: Photon Studio: free, macOS 12+, Windows 64-bit, Linux. VoiceStudio: free and open source (AGPL-3.0), macOS, Windows, Linux; runs on CPU too, just slower (about 5 GB free disk).

Photon Studio: the free Photoshop alternative

Layers, groups, masks, adjustment layers, curves and levels, healing brush, clone stamp, content-aware fill, and Photoshop shortcuts. PSD and PSB files open with their layers and save back to PSD. Select Subject, Remove Background and other AI selections use models bundled with the app, so nothing is uploaded. No account needed to edit.

  1. Download and install.
  2. Open an old PSD and check the layers you care about.
  3. Try Select Subject on a photo: it runs on your machine.

Tip: Reviewers note complex masks and projects with hundreds of elements can still be rough, so test your real files before switching.

VoiceStudio: the local ElevenLabs alternative

Clone or design a voice from a short sample, dub videos with timed speech, dictate from a floating widget, transcribe recordings and turn books into audiobooks, across 646 languages. Apple Silicon uses Metal, NVIDIA uses CUDA, and plain CPUs work too, slower.
